Oklahoma has had their fair share of tornadoes. Oklahomans know what to do in the event of a tornado, and for the most part take it very seriously! Most of us have a basement or a cellar. I will never forget the May 3rd tornado that destroyed my hometown. I was able to assist in the clean up since I was interning at the Red Cross. It was the most humbling experience I've ever had.
Last night devastation hit our great state. So many homes and lives were destroyed. At this writing there is a child missing, and a sibling of that child that past away last night. My heart is broken for these families that are experiencing hurt beyond our imagination.
Pictures do not do this situation justice. It's hard for us to imagine when it's not happening to us. However, as I lay in bed last night I began to just think of how many families didn't have a bed last night... didn't have a car... a cell phone...their wallets - they have nothing. They don't even have a way to prove their identity.
My thoughts and prayers are with each and every person affected by this awful storm. I pray for the volunteers, emergency personnel, and all those hurt.
If you or your family were spared in this storm I ask that you remain in continuous prayer as well.
"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
Galatians 6:2
"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interest of others."
Phillipians 2:4
