Hitting close to home...

I believe that people are put in your life for a reason, I believe that things happen for a reason, and lately I have felt many thing just really hit home with me.  We belong to a wonderful church.  I am constantly being encouraged and feel like I'm growing in my faith.   I write this blog because I've been going through a really hard time lately, a time when I feel very alone, and I'm really working on giving it to God and trusting in his plan.  Our church as a whole is doing an amazing study right now called Faith at Home.  It has some unbelievable statics in it, and ultimately relates to what Will and I are doing in our home and how we are (or need to be) raising our children.  If you haven't read and studied this book, I highly recommend it!
It talks a lot about priorities.  I see OFTEN how people  have time for everything.  If they want to read a good book, they have time for it, but not time to read their bible.  They have time to make it to every sporting event, but not to help with something their church is doing OR church services.  They find time to make it to work each day, but can't seem to make it to church on time or at all.  I think of how God must feel when we put him off like that.
He gave his only son for us, and this is how we treat him?

Then last Saturday, our Sunday School class went as a group to see the new movie Courageous.  It's awesome!  What a great movie for anyone to see.  These four guys work to become better husbands and fathers, put full faith in God, and it's truly inspirational.

There were parts of the movie that were hard for me to watch. Parts that I cried and parts that I laughed hysterically.  All in all it had an amazing message.  Goes hand in hand with the book "Faith at Home" that we are doing right now.
My prayer is that I am the mother to my children that I need to be, I will feel like I am a successful parent when I see that my children marry another Christian and raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.  It's ultimately mine and Will's responsibility to raise them right and I pray that we are doing all we need to be doing.
