Proud Moments

As a parent you have many proud moments, many moments of sitting back and watching your children, and moments of smiling knowing that you are doing a good job as a parent.  Parenting is probably one of the most unrewarding jobs normally however here and there something like this allows you to know that you are doing an okay job...

Jaxen has show-and-tell every Friday at school.  A few weeks ago he asked his "G.G" if she'd paint him a football picture to take to show and tell.  She said "Sure I can do that" ...little did she know he wanted it in a few days.  She then told him it would take her a little while to complete so maybe he could take it later in the school year.  Jaxen said, "Why don't I just ask you some questions and tell my class what you say about painting." ...and that's what he did. G.G. came over and they sat at the table together.  He ask how long it takes the paint to dry...how she learned to paint... what her favorite thing to paint is...she included some history about painting and he took notes. 
I watched from across the kitchen and was so proud!  This was totally his doing, all his idea, and he took the initiative to do this.  This is a picture that I will always treasure!  Proud of that boy!!!!!
