2013 BLIZZARD

Well so far we've survived the 2013 blizzard.  Yesterday we had snow blowing all day and it was practically a whiteout outside.  Not for sure how much snow we got since it blew so much and drifted but I've heard between 8-12"   We lost power yesterday around 4:00 and got it back in the middle of the night last night.  (That was the toughest part)  I can handle snow okay, I can handle slick roads, but no power...not so much.  We played games last night by candlelight and flashlight and had some great family time, but I still prefer to have a lamp on and some 'light'.
I can say that I've never seen this much snow in Oklahoma and it's really pretty today.  The kids spent a lot of time playing in the snow today, sledding, and just enjoying the beautiful day.  They've been out of school all week and are out again tomorrow so we are making the most of it.
the calm after the storm....

now time for some FUN!!

Snow fun!

We got a bunch of snow today!!!! Like maybe 6 inches and we lived it up!!!  School was in since it was just a wet snow and the roads were fine, but the minute I picked kids up we changed into our gear and headed out to PLAY!
Ready to go sledding....Redneck style of course.  We have a make-shift sled from a pickup hood - it works so good!  Fun fun!!!

Daddy and Mama -- we were making some snowmen!!

Our 3 snowmen!

Go Mama!!  Bringing in the body for snowman #2 :)

I love Kate's face!  She is loving this! ...until a bunch of snow got inside her jacket...
she was yelling that she was FREEZING and went inside to warm up! haha

Snow ball fight!!!

Family FUN Night!

Every now and then we have a Family Fun Night IN!  We have a movie night in the living room with all the treats in the comfort of our home and in our lounge clothes.  This past Friday Will was at a men's retreat for Church so it was the perfect night for a Fun Night.  Kate and I planned it...she helped choose the movie and treats and the fun began...
When the older kids got home from school they were surprise with this...MOVIE NIGHT Featuring: Peter Pan!  So after dinner and baths we all got in our comfy clothes and watched Peter Pan.
I love this time with my kids.  They always look forward to these and enjoy spending time together.
...only next time Daddy gets to join us :)

She's 7!!! SEVEN!

Yep, my middle one is the big whopping S-E-V-E-N!   She seems SO big now. I wish time would Slllooooowwww down for awhile.  My Madi is a sweet, fun, caring, helpful, and a beautiful little girl.  She is the first one to compliment, the first one to lend a helping hand, and the first one with an idea of a "project" for us to do around the house! haha.  I love her to pieces and am blessed to be her mama!!!
This year for her Birthday she wanted a sleepover party but I just didn't
think I was quite ready for that yet so we settled on the idea of "Pancakes & Pajamas!"
All the girls came over at 10:00 in the morning in their pi's and had pancakes!  It
was a ton of fun and the girls loved it.

This is the "Group of girls!  Including Payton (Who is a junior in High School) - she is a sweet sweet girl and Madi really looks up to her.  Madi walked an invitation to her house one afternoon and she came to the party.  It made Madi's day and meant more to her than Payton will ever know.  I'm so thankful she has a sweet role model to look up to and admire.  Payton is beautiful inside and out.
We had breakfast food, fruit, "bacon & eggs", milk, juice, muffins...and Madi's cake was a Pancake!
We made Fruit loop necklaces, did some crafts, opened gifts, and played Twister!!!
The girls had a blast playing all day!
It was a FUN Bday for Miss Madi :)

Then on Madi's actual Birthday she chose to eat at:
We ate at Chili's -- went to the mall and she got her toes and nails painted.
I think she's enjoying being 7 so far!!!

Happy 4th Birthday ~ Cowgirl Party!!!

My baby is 4! (Sniff...sniff...) I can't believe it!  She is funny, ornery, mischievous, full of energy, hilarious, and precious!!!  LOVE her to pieces.
We had a fun party for her ~ Cowgirl/boy style!
Kate with ALL her friends :)

The Birthday Girl!
YeeHaw!!!

we had some Cowgirl food - Smores pops, Cowboy Caviar, Hot Dogs, and Cupcakes :)
I found a "Cowgirl Kate" book for all the guest to sign and everyone left with some "special popcorn"

Kate loved every second of her 4th Birthday -- way too many pics to post but I think it's safe to say a great time was had by ALL!
....then a few days later on her actual BirthDAY she got to choose our dinner destination.  She chose none other than...

This last pic is of Kate on her actual Birthday.  She pretty much bossed me around all day and it was ALL about her (as it should be on your birthday!)  We played at the park for hours, rode her scooter, ate Mac n Cheese for lunch, and McDonalds for dinner (what she'd live on if we allowed it!), and we celebrated HER!
We love you to the moon and back Kate!  You are such a blessing to our Family!
