Pitch*Hit*Run

Jaxen competed in the Pitch, Hit, & Run contest this week in Weatherford and won All-Around Champion in his age division! We are all anxious for baseball to get started, especially after this ~ He did really good!!!!

Thunder UP!

Grammy & Papa bought Jaxen tickets to go to a Thunder game for his Birthday - they went last Friday, and he had the BEST time!  He's talked about it ever since.  This was the first game he's been too, don't think he missed a second of the game.  He loved every minute of it!

Scrub---a-- dub--dub

The girls were having extra fun playing in my bath the other night....
Snapped this cute pic - LOVE how it shows how happy
they are and how much fun they were having!!

Green Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  This year "Green Day" fell on a Saturday so when the kids woke up I made them green milk...and wanted to feed them Lucky Charms, but they didn't want that so we had green plates with a licorice rainbow on the top.  It was fun!

So I told Madi to make sure she dressed in GREEN...she comes into the living room and says "I'm Greeeen Girl!"
...Ummm yes I'd say so!  haha

A break

The last time our kids were all away from us overnight was last July.  So it's been quite awhile.  Now I know that some parents never get a break and I know that some parents take breaks often from their children and don't mind leaving them.  We prefer to have our kiddos at  home, and enjoy being with them daily; afterall they are our children to raise.
So last Wednesday Will and I drove all THREE of our kids and dropped them off at my parents house -- they were on Spring Break, and we needed a break too!
-- we left them on Wednesday evening with my parents and went to dinner (just the two of us), we had a whole conversation, we laughed, talked, and enjoyed each others company (Oh, and we had dessert too)!  Then Thursday we both had to work all day, we got home and found ourselves not wanting to do anything but just hang out and watch TV and relax together so we did just that.  (It's just he little things in life that are enjoyable these days!)....Friday same thing we went to work and decided to have some friends over for a cookout and just relax.  I got up on Saturday morning and went to get the kids.  I was so anxious to see them, and they were excited to see me too!  My parents looked completely worn out and my mom said "I guess you guys did need a break, and I can see why!" haha.  They love going to their Mema and Papa's because it's total fun.  They play hard with them, let them get dirty, play hard....let them do whatever they want...play hard...! haha

Again, the kids had a great time.  They prefer to get to do something fun when they are out of school for Spring Break, and our jobs weren't allowing us to get to do anything with them, so I am so thankful they were able to go spend time with their Mema and Papa, and even more thankful that I got to spend time with Will.  We needed that. We didn't realize how much we needed that break but non-the-less it was great.

Pride.....Self - Respect

Found this last night and boy did it come at just the right time!  Why do I let people worry and bring me down?  Why do I have to care so much about others...and this is right - they could care less about me, or the worries they are causing me, or the stress they are causing me....I'm not a worry to them.
.....this is my thought to ponder for the day!

L-T-C!

Will and I have been blessed this year to be able to be a part of a program at our church, Leadership Training for Christ (LTC).  We meet every Sunday night and are studying the book of Genesis.  LTC is for kids from 3rd grade thru Seniors, and our Church has over 50 kids involved.  Our Church has been doing this for about 10 years so Will and I are currently learning from the Best ...and the ones that have poured their heart and soul into making this happen year after year.

Will teaches the Middle School boys each week during LTC.  I check their bibles to see if they have them marked, line up meals for each week during LTC, and assist wherever needed.
The kids work so hard and are so inspiring to me as they do this.  This is the greatest bunch of kiddos and we are SO enjoying doing this!

A couple of weekends ago we went these kids from our Church (and about 8 other adults) to Quartz Mountain for the weekend to do some studying and preparing for our upcoming trip to Rogers, Arkansas where our kids will compete in various categories of LTC.
Here's most of our group at the top of Quartz Mountain.
On Sunday afternoon we hiked to the top.  The kids loved this!

The entire weekend was great.  Our kids worked very hard, we played hard, we worshipped, and we had a wonderful weekend!  We stayed at the Quartz Mountain Christian Camp, which took me WAY back to my Church camp days.... stayed in a big room with bunk beds.  I stayed in the girls room and Will stayed in the boys room.  The girls were awesome!  When we said lights out they stayed in their beds, and were a breaze!... the boys however, well, I think they had a late night! haha.
Here's a few of the Boys!
It probably goes without saying...but Will & I are
extremely proud of Jaxen.  This is his first year at LTC and he's doing a great
job.  It requires a great committment and hard work....very proud of him!

We are sure anxious for our trip to Arkansas with the kids and their parents.  It's been so much fun, and we couldn't be prouder of their hard work!
