Little funny story for you today -
We've had a slight problem with Kate lately saying she "hates" things. Hate is a bad word at our house and we aren't aloud to say it. I always tell the kids you can dislike things but you can't hate. So a few times here and there Kate will say, "I hate doing that" "I hate that game...." I kept asking her not to say that word, and Madi says "Kate we only Hate the devil!" Kate looked at me for approval and I said, "That's right, we dislike the devil." So the other night Kate was playing the I-pad and she 'lost' her game. She walked away and said "I HATE THAT DAME!" (That's how she she's game) -- I looked over at her and she never missed a beat... and said "I HATE THE DEBIL! I HATE THAT DEBIL!" Oh that girl, she makes me laugh! She keeps us on our toes non-stop! What a kid!

Trying to give it to God!
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you."
Deut. 31:6
Last Thursday an occurence happened in my life that has left me completely sick! I have tried to be in continuous prayer but have found that my mind is having a hard time concentrating. I've spent hours talking to my friends.... and I find it completely AMAZING that in times when you are too weak to pray, your friends pray for you. When you hurt, your friends hurt with you! The problems I've faced here recently and the people I have confided with have cried with me, prayed with me, and sypathized with what I am facing. When times are the toughest you truely learn who loves you and cares about you. You truely learn who will go to the moon and back to look after you. You learn who has the "time" to take a few minutes and just listen. You learn who will give and give Cheerfully to make your life easier. To those people I hope I will always do the same for you. I am blessed to have those friends in my life!
I came across this scripture today and it really spoke to me.
I have a long way to go, I have many emotions to deal with, but I am very blessed with some amazing people in my life.

Toy Story on ICE!
So we went to Toy Story on Ice last night. It was a very late night for me and the kids but was SOOOO worth it!
Kate enjoyed the show more than I ever imagined! She waived at the skaters the entire time... would yell "MICKEY MOUSE!... JESSIE!" :) She was beaming the entire time we were there.
THE GREAT STATE FAIR OF OKLAHOMA!!!!!
Rolled in to Thomas at midnight with a car full of sacked out kiddos! Great memories!

RUN!
Running is a huge thing right now, and I try to be supportive of local 5K Runs. Of course I was supporting the run yesterday, in Hydro America ~ my friend Becca was the coordinator of this run so we went and it was a great time.
I had planned to run but that didn't quit work out for me. I couldn't get out of the house without the girls so I just took them along and we all did the one mile run/walk.
Kate didn't want to ride in the jogging stroller and insisted
on "running" so here we go... she ran about .000001 miles and then... I got to carry her.
This is how we roll! One mile carrying 30 lbs. ;)
Oh and one last little thing.... MADI WON THE ONE MILE RACE!
So proud of her, she ran the whole thing and finished first! She was pretty excited!!!
YUM! Watermelon!!!
The girls are in love with watermelon! They ask for it all the time and this summer they've had "few" watermelons.
...I can ride my bike with no handle bars!!
Nobody can accuse my children of being lazy. They LOVE to be outside and they LOVE their bikes. We've certainly been enjoying the beautiful weather and taking advantage of each opportunity to get out and ride.
Look Mom..."No hands!"
I imagine he's telling Kate... "This is too close to the road" but she doesn't care she likes the rocks! ;)
Madi is quite the little rider.
She hasn't been riding without training wheels for very long but she caught on and is doing really good!
They all love to go over the Kent's house and ride around his big driveway. It's a great riding place for them.
Fun times on the Bikes!!!

....another week with the Mannerings
.........Whew! We made it thru another CRAZY week! Busy...Busy!! Actually it's more of just a way of life for us now days.
The kids are doing great at school, loving everything, and we are back into a routine.
So on Sunday we went to church, then to Grammy and Papa's for lunch. Madi has had a loose tooth and GG stuck her hand right in there and yanked it out! So Madi lost her 1st tooth! She was SO excited!! She couldn't wait to get to school on Monday and show Mrs Rainwater because they have a chart for when kids lose their teeth and she was the first to go on it. She was so proud. Low and behold the tooth fairy showed up and she got $5! Tooth fairies seem to be far more generous these days...
Jaxen is doing so good at school, he has homework on Mondays and Thursdays, and is reading chapter books. He has been reading a little each night and working on his AR points.
The kids have also aquired chores since school started. It's not much but something they should be doing anyways.. making their beds.. helping set the table... take out the trash... help empty hampers, etc. So Madi is always wanting to help but Jaxen.. not so much. However, I have to brag on him, he's been jumping right out of bed when we tell him in the morning, getting ready, getting his room picked up and bed made, and has sure made our mornings much smoother. The chores are going over really well!
Then... Thursday night Madilyn asked me to help her learn to tie her shoes. She hates wearing tennis shoes to school because she doesn't know how to tie them, and they take their shoes off for P.E. -- anyways, I worked with her for about 15 minutes and she got it! She was overly proud of herself and picked it right up! Thatta girl Madi!
Friday night Madi cheered at the Thomas Football game, this is a result of her attending the Thomas Mini Cheer Camp. What a big event for her! Grammy, Papa, GG, Cathy, Steve, and all of us came to 'cheer her on' - she did good!
Also Friday night, there was a fundraiser at school to raise money for the school mascot "JAKE" - Jake was chosen at cheer camp for all American and is going to a bowl game so the pics help to raise money.
...and Kate, well Kate is doing pretty good with potty training. Although at times she has a 'mind of her own' -- Kate got to go to school one morning this week because Tasha was taking Devon to show and tell, and well now Kate thinks she should go daily. So it's not fun in the mornings, she just wants to be BIG so bad!
